The Boys Go Exploring

Last weekend while I was at work the boys decided to explore a cave they had seen while fishing earlier.

This is what they had to climb to get up to the cave.  You can barely see the opening right in the middle of the picture at the top of the rocks.

Interesting rock formations.  Wil didn't really climb this part.

Once they got to the top they had a fabulous view.  This is the flat part at the top and on the back side of the cave.

Looking down at the Crooked River.

Way down there is the parking lot.

The mouth of the cave.

Wil sitting just inside the entrance.

Looking out of the cave from the inside. The cave goes about 40 feet back.

And finally do see that little knob in the middle of the photo?

That is Chimney Rock where Hubby and I hiked up and had a picnic last year.  Click here to see that post.

The guys had fun hiking and exploring.  Afterwards they tried a little fly fishing but unfortunately weren't too successful in that particular endeavor.

Maybe next time!

Dang, I was hoping to hear that they found something from 100 years ago!! Bottles, bones.... I can only imagine just a handful of people have ever done that! Or is that just lazy ol' me thinking?? Looks beautiful, and I can walk, but I prefer the flat walking!!
