Groundhog Day

Happy Groundhog Day!?!

Today is Groundhog Day and Punxatawney Phil saw his shadow. That means six more weeks of winter.

Does anyone else find it strange that if he saw his shadow, which means the sun was out, it's supposed to mean more winter? Shouldn't that be an indicator of spring?

Oh well, I'm as much a meteorologist as Punxatawney Phil.

Have a good week!

My "kids" at school also ask "if Phil doesn't see his shadow does that mean Spring is moved in the calendar too?" Love kids thinking!!

Evidently, there are 3 groundhogs who are utilized in climate prediction. This year, two saw there shadoes and one didn't. Here in good old AZ, we use a prarie dog. He saw his shadow, so we will have 6 more weeks of absolutely delightful weather! : )

What happened to this program? I wrote the words "their" and "shadows", but "there" and "shadoes" appears, sigh. Wonder what will happen with this post.
