Visit From The Kids

Carli and Siena surprised us with a visit a couple weeks ago.

I had come home from work in the late afternoon or early evening and went through the kitchen as usual to put my keys and purse down.  As I passed the pantry I heard a meowing.  I turned to Hubby, who was watching tv and asked if the cat got locked in the pantry.  He said he didn't think so.  Then there was another meow and a tiny scratching on the pantry door.  I told my husband, "Yes, you did lock the cat in the pantry!"

I opened the door expecting the cat to come shooting out and saw the kids in there.  What a great surprise!

One day they played with the horse and pony.

Siena did a great job of putting the moisterizer on Flora's hooves.

Another day we decided to explore the last couple of caves we had seen. This is on the way to Boyd Cave.

At the entrance to Boyd Cave.

Getting ready to take some group photos.

If you enlarge this picture you can see that we went about 2/3 of the way into the cave before we turned around and headed back.  We got to the area where it says "crawlspace".  It wasn't too bad really but it did have a low ceiling and a precarious tumbling of rocks right there.

After Boyd Cave we headed for Hidden Forest Cave for a picnic lunch.

It was rather windy but down in the secluded area of the depression in front of the cave it was warm and cozy.

All too soon we had to head back to the house.  And all too soon the kids had to take off for home.  The good news is they will be back in a few short weeks and we'll see them again.  And not only that but we'll see most of my family then too for a family reunion/birthday whole lotta fun!

Love that they hid, that makes it all the more exciting! And perhaps he does lock the cat up sometimes too.
What a fun/short time you had, looks like you packed a lot in. For some reason I still love pictures of people especially kids walking away, they look so sweet, so a cute one w/ Gramps hand in hand!
I sure hope you are getting time off when you have all of your family in, what a blast you will all have together!
